Diagnosis

Biscuit has already told you most of the story: we went to the vet today, and an X-ray revealed bladder stones. These stones are causing his urinary problems, and the only way to treat them is to operate.

It's a very complicated, serious, and expensive procedure. The stones are located far back behind his pelvic bone, which makes them difficult to reach. They will have to push the stones toward his bladder first, so they can be removed.

Biscuit's first owners have generously offered to pay for half the surgery, so I will need to make up the other half. The total is about $2000, including the cost of today's X-rays, exam, and medication. If you can help with a small donation, please do. We will be having a bake sale (for humans and for dogs) too, and thinking of other ways to raise the money. My goal is to raise $200 a month for the next five months. I'll keep track of my progress here.

Surgery is scheduled for 1/31, and Biscuit will need to be hospitalized for up to four days. The surgery is so complicated that he can be the only patient that day. I'm just glad that we know what is wrong with him now, and I hope this will fix him up once and for all.
